Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has suggested to The Scottish Sun what Ibrox fans can expect from Joe Aribo.

According to The Scottish Sun, Aribo underwent a medical at Rangers on Monday and is set to join the Ibrox club on a free transfer.

The 22-year-old midfielder will move to Rangers after leaving Charlton Athletic in England.

According to The Scottish Sun, Celtic, Brighton and Hove Albion, Bournemouth, Southampton and Aston Villa were among the clubs interested in securing the services of the former Staines Town star.

Rangers manager Gerrard has outlined what Aribo will add to his team, comments which will surely excite and delight the Ibrox faithful.

Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about Aribo: “He’s got a fantastic profile and you will see that for yourselves when you see him with your own eyes.

“He’s very mobile and very dynamic. He can burst past a player and create and score goals.

“There are still a lot of areas of his game where he can develop, but he gives us something we have not got in midfield. That’s the key.

“We have good midfielders, we have experience, we have good young ones. But we didn’t have this type of midfielder with the characteristics Joe has.”

Challenging Celtic

Rangers finished second in the Scottish Premiership this past season, and until the mid-season winter break, the Gers did look like they could push Celtic all the way.

Celtic remain the best team in Scotland, but the addition of a dynamic and young midfielder like Aribo is only going to enhance Rangers’ chances of winning the league title next season.
