The on-loan Rangers striker has appeared just four times under Steven Gerrard, leaving his Ibrox future uncertain.

Umar Sadiq’s Rangers career is not finished yet, his manager, Steven Gerrard, hinted on Friday.
Sadiq has only played 71 minutes of senior football since his summer move from AS Roma to Rangers, where he is due to spent the rest of the season on loan.
When asked to explain Sadiq’s lack of action earlier in the campaign, Gerrard replied that the striker must improve every aspect of his game before he is considered for selection.
Speaking at Rangers’ pre-Hamilton press conference, however, the Ibrox boss revealed: “He (Sadiq) has (shown improvement).
“He’s been working very hard. He’s got his head down. He’s improved a lot.
“His application’s improved, his quality’s improved.
“So, yeah, he’s given me something to think about in the future.”

On whether it was his warning that sparked Sadiq’s revival, Gerrard added: “That’s something you’d have to ask Umar.
“Sometimes when a manager is honest with you, sometimes you have to self-reflect and go away. And if you’re a proper footballer and a good footballer, you analyse, self-reflect and come back stronger.”
With Kyle Lafferty suspended for Rangers’ trip to Hamilton and, along with Alfredo Morelos, unavailable for next weekend’s League Cup semi-final against Aberdeen, Sadiq’s opportunity could arise over the next nine days.

The Nigerian is the Gers’ only other recognised senior striker, although Gerrard could also call upon Andy Dallas, the in-form academy player, in the absence of Lafferty and Morelos.
