Glasgow Rangers were superb at Ibrox on Saturday, and Andy Halliday was arguably the pick of the bunch for the Gers.

The Gers picked up a 1-0 win against Celtic thanks to a first-half goal from Ryan Jack. But while the margin of victory may have been narrow, the gulf between the two sides on the day was anything but.
Gerrard’s men were superb, and Halliday was quite possibly the pick of the bunch. The 27-year-old was deployed at left-back, and performed superbly, making a number of brilliant challenges and producing some fantastic deliveries from set-pieces that really caused Celtic problems.
And after the game, Gerrard suggested that he cannot speak high enough about what he thinks of the boyhood Rangers fan.

“He epitomised the whole spirit of the squad,” he told Sky Sports.
“Andy earned the right to play today. He was outstanding against Hibs. Every time I’ve called upon him, whether it be a cameo or whether it be from the beginning, every single day in training, he’s available. Andy Halliday’s my unofficial captain. I think the world of him and think he deserves this night.”

It has been an incredible turnaround for Halliday. He appeared to be on his way out of the club under Pedro Caixinha and hardly fared any better when Graeme Murty took charge for the majority of last season.
Gerrard surprised many by quickly making him an important parts of his plans. And he has repaid that faith with an excellent run of form, culminating in arguably his best ever performance for the club this weekend.
