Jamie Redknapp stated on Instagram that Roberto Firmino’s assist for Liverpool during their 3-1 win over Newcastle was ‘unreal’, whilst Steven Gerrard jokingly told him to ‘stop it’.
Jurgen Klopp’s side maintained their 100% start to the season as they came from behind to beat Steve Bruce’s side at Anfield – Manchester City ended up losing their evening encounter against Norwich.
Nonetheless, for Liverpool’s game, Klopp started Divock Origi ahead of Roberto Firmino, but the Belgian went off injured in the first-half, with the Brazilian coming onto the pitch to well and truly turn the game – Prior to that the home team lacked bite and energy in their play.
In the game, Sadio Mane netted a brace and Mo Salah also got onto the scoresheet after the break – Firmino provided two assists for their goals, including a wonderful flick for Salah.
Ex-Reds midfielder Redknapp and club legend Gerrard reacted to that assist as they posted these messages on Liverpool’s official Instagram account.

One thing that Liverpool proved against Newcastle is how important their front three is to them and how pivotal Firmino is in getting the best out of his attacking teammates either side of him.
Klopp’s side have won all five of their Premier League games this season, yet it seems as though they can take their game to another level.
From a defensive standpoint, they will want more clean sheets to their name, but they would no doubt prefer the points on the board as they currently lead second-placed Manchester City by five points.
