Rangers looked into signing two free agents.

Rangers acted quickly in the January transfer market to bring in Jermain Defoe and Steven Davis.
Further deals followed, with Glen Kamara arriving early after signing a pre-contract agreement.
It has since emerged that Rangers boss Steven Gerrard met with two free agents to discuss potential moves.
The Times reported Gerrard met with Ravel Morrison in January.
Now it emerges via Swedish outlet FotbollDirekt that Gerrard also met with ex-Liverpool youth prospect Alexander Kacaniklic.
Rangers ended up not moving for either, with both ending up signing deals in Sweden with Osterlunds and Hammarby respectively.

What it does show is that Gerrard is leaving no stone unturned in his quest to improve Rangers.
He evidently felt neither Morrison or Kacaniklic were ready to improve on his current options, but there is a chance they could be in the future if their next spells are successful.
Gerrard’s reputation helps him secure meetings like this with potential signings, as well as Rangers’ status themselves.
It is a combination which bodes well for the future.
