Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard was pleased with Gers defender Borna Barisic’s performance at Ibrox.

Barisic featured for Rangers in their Scottish Premiership game against St. Mirren at home on Sunday afternoon.
The 25-year-old defender started the match and played for 62 minutes, as Gerrard’s side won 2-0.
It was the left-back’s debut for Rangers, with the Croatia international having moved to the Scottish giants from from NK Osijek in the summer transfer window for a fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £2.2 million.
Rangers manager Gerrard was impressed with the performance of the former Dinamo Zagreb left-back, and the Liverpool legend has also explained why he substituted the Croatian on 62 minutes.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website about Barisic: “I thought it was a very strong debut. I think you can see quite clearly the quality he is going to bring to our left-hand side.
“He gives us the options to also use a back five if we want to use him as a wing-back because he is so comfortable high up the pitch.
“So it was a strong performance but I was left with no choice, especially when we went to 10 men.
“He was on a yellow card as well so I had to make a decision for the sake of the team and that is the reason he only played an hour.”

Over the course of the 90 minutes at Ibrox on Sunday afternoon, hosts Rangers had 59% of the possession, took 11 shots of which eight were on target, and earned five corners, according to BBC Sport.
Rangers played most of the match with 10 men due to the dismissal of Ross McCrorie on 31 minutes.
