Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has suggested to The Scottish Sun that Bongani Zungu may not be at Ibrox next season.
Zungu is one of five Rangers players who have been disciplined by the Ibrox club for breaking lockdown rules by attending a party last weekend, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
The 28-year-old midfielder joined Rangers on loan from Amiens in the summer of 2020.
Rangers have the option to make the deal permanent at the end of the season, according to the club’s official website.
However, Gerrard has hinted that the South Africa international may not be at Rangers next season.
When asked if Zungu’s conduct had hampered his hopes of making his loan deal permanent, Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “It would be fair to say that, yes.”

No future at Rangers?
Rangers manager Gerrard described Zungu as “a dominant midfielder” on the club’s official website in October 2020.
Much was expected of the 28-year-old when he arrived at Ibrox, but the South Africa international has failed to make a huge impact at the Gers.
According to WhoScored, Zungu has made one start and 11 substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership and has made one start and one substitute appearance in the Europa League for Rangers so far this season.
Zungu would not be a big miss for Rangers if his loan deal is not made permanent at the end of the season.
