Rangers boss wants to pay closer attention to loan players as they leave Ibrox.

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has outlined his decision to appoint a loan manager at the club.
The Scottish Sun report Gerrard wants the club to manage the loanees more efficiently and would like an employee dedicated to doing so.
This is a smart decision and shows Rangers are both talking and acting like a big club.
For Rangers to even need a specialised person in this role is because of the volume of first team players out on loan.
Only top sides are able to have this luxury, as they have enlarged squads and academies bristling with talent.
There are a multitude of benefits for Rangers for doing this.
The loan players will feel less abandoned, and that their needs are being met by the club, as opposed to just being sent out and left to fend for themselves.

There will be a more direct procedure for problems to be dealt with, and Rangers can easier monitor their progress.
This will enable smarter decisions to be made on who to recall, who to keep, and who to sell.
Steven Gerrard’s time being better spent elsewhere is one added bonus.
The move is a further sign Rangers are moving in the right direction, and they are becoming increasingly professional behind the scenes, shedding the perception previously that they were winging it behind the scenes.
