Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard comments on the fitness of Ibrox duo Declan John and Scott Arfield.

Ibrox club Rangers will take on Osijek in the Europa League Qualifying Second Round, the first leg of which will be played in Croatia next Thursday.
Gerrard has suggested that 23-year-old, who can operate as a left-back or as a left wing-back, will be ready for the first leg, but the Rangers manager has indicated that Scott Arfield will miss out.
The 29-year-old midfielder – who joined Rangers on a free transfer this summer after leaving Burnley at the end of last season – suffered a knee injury in the first leg of the Gers’ Europa League Qualifying First Round tie against FK Shkupi at Ibrox and missed the second leg.
Gerrard told Rangers’ official website: “I will speak to the doctor today but as of yesterday Scott Arfield is improving slowly, but we are not sure whether he will be available next week to play Osijek. We will have to play that one by ear and see if he improves in the coming days.”
The Liverpool legend added: “Declan John is back in full training; he trained yesterday and had no issues with his back problem which he had.”

Progressing in Europe
Rangers were not exactly great against FK Shkupi over the two legs, but the Glasgow giants got the job done.
The Ibrox faithful will hope that the Gers do the same against Osijek, although the Gers fans will expect the team to play better.
