Glasgow Rangers and Liverpool have two of the best, most famous old stadiums in world football.

Steven Gerrard spoke exclusively to the Daily Record, and outlined how Rangers can emulate Liverpool with regards to the atmosphere that is created at Anfield on a consistent basis.
The 38-year-old has performed admirably in his role as Gers boss in his debut season in football management, guiding his side to a second placed finish in the Scottish Premiership table, but he will be expecting even more next term.
Ibrox stadium is renowned for its hostile atmosphere, but Rangers quite simply haven’t had enough success in recent years to get their home bouncing.
And Gerrard predicted that Rangers’ arena will be on fire like Anfield was on Tuesday night in the Champions League against Barcelona, if he can guide his side back to the glory days, when speaking exclusively to the Daily Record:

“As the Liverpool game was snowballing and the noise was getting louder and louder, it took me back to certain playing days when I was there. But it also took me back to the Old Firm game at Ibrox and the noise and, maybe, the last 15 minutes against Rapid Vienna. There’s no doubt about it, if we can get that close to some big success here, these fans are going to be with us making that type of noise.”
Rangers obviously still have a long way to go before they can even be mentioned in the same breath as Liverpool, but Gerrard is undoubtedly building something special at Ibrox.
Whether he can bring back the glory days to the famous old stadium, however, remains to be seen.
