Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a big unit in Umar Sadiq.

Steven Gerrard has told The Record that he is liking the look of Rangers new boy Umar Sadiq and ‘loves’ the big striker’s aggression.
The Roma-owned hitman made his debut for Rangers in Sunday’s 3-0 drubbing of Championship outfit Wigan Athletic in a pre-season friendly at Ibrox.
Sadiq, who stands at 6’3, proved himself a handful for opposition defenders and scored the Gers’ third goal of the afternoon with a header.
The 21-year-old also has plenty of pace and although Gerrard admitted that the youngster was “a bit rusty” in what was his first game of the summer, the Rangers boss believes there’s plenty of potential there.
“He is still finding his feet, he is still a bit rusty, but you saw glimpses of what he is about,” he told The Record.
“I love it when he is aggressive and on the front foot, he puts pressure on people and he runs hard. You can see there’s potential in there to be a right handful and that’s what we want him to be.”
Sadiq could be involved on Thursday as Rangers host Osijek in the second leg of a second-round Europa League qualifier.
Gerrard’s side lead 1-0 after Alfredo Morelos’s goal gave them an all-important away goal in Croatia last week, so the Colombian, who also scored against the Latics, is likely to spearhead the attack again.
But Sadiq is looking like an excellent plan-b option and it’ll be interesting to see if Gerrard uses him off the bench.
