Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to be active again this summer, according to Steven Gerrard.

Rangers have been left behind by Celtic in the Scottish Premiership table now, despite making some improvements since Gerrard’s arrival.
And Gerrard is seemingly not happy to simply be chasing Celtic again next season.
The Rangers boss is determined to close the gap, but to do so he wants more quality brought to Ibrox.
Rangers are now already formulating plans to bring in players as soon as possible in the summer, with transfer targets already identified.
“That’s already started it’s already in place in terms of recruitment wise,” Gerrard said.
“We are always looking for players who can improve us. The players we have got have done extremely well for us, but the reality is we need support in certain areas.

“Obviously I can’t give names or anything away, but the reality is when it’s possible to go and get that support we need to go and do it.”
Gerrard has already made dramatic changes to Rangers’ squad since taking charge, but his recruitment record is not flawless.
Some of Gerrard’s signings for Rangers have not worked out as hoped, with the rookie manager having mixed success in the transfer market.
Rangers were beaten 2-1 by Celtic yesterday in the Old-Firm derby, which means they are now 13 points behind their Glasgow rivals.
