Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have three goalkeepers competing for one place, with Steven Gerrard facing a tough decision.

Rangers have signed Allan McGregor this summer to strengthen their options in net for the season ahead.

McGregor is competing with Wes Foderingham and Jak Alnwick for a place in Rangers’ goal next term.
And Gerrard admits that whoever he leaves out of Rangers’ first-team altogether is going to be disappointed with him.

“I am not stupid and I know the three goalkeepers are desperate for that number one position. Certainly, one of them is not going to be happy in the coming weeks but that is life, there is nothing I can do about it,” Gerrard said.
Foderingham and McGregor look more likely candidates than Alnwick to be Rangers’ number one next season.
Alnwick has generally been kept in reserve since moving to Glasgow, so he could find himself as third choice in Gerrard’s side.

Foderingham was Rangers’ first choice stopper last campaign, but the addition of McGregor has put his starting place in doubt.
McGregor will be in his second stint at Rangers, and the veteran stopper brings with him a wealth of experience to Ibrox.
