Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer, has admitted that all players at the Gers have a price.
The Liverpool legend told The Express: “None of our players are available in January. But they all have a price. That never changes.”
Boost for West Bromwich Albion?
Gerrard’s aforementioned comments will come as a boost to West Bromwich Albion in their reported pursuit of Rangers defender James Tavernier.
According to The Daily Record, West Brom in the Championship in England are interested in signing Tavernier from Rangers in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that the Baggies have scouted the right-back this season, and that manager Darren Moore rates the former Newcastle United man highly.
The 27-year-old signed a new contract with Rangers only in September 2018, but Gerrard’s comments suggest that the Scottish Premiership giants could be persuaded to part company with Tavernier if West Brom make a big offer.
West Brom are aiming to win automatic promotion to the Premier League, while Rangers are challenging for the Scottish Premiership title.
