Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers signed AS Roma’s Umar Sadiq on loan in the summer transfer window.

Ibrox club Rangers signed Sadiq on a season-long loan deal from Italian club Roma in the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old striker has struggled to make an impact for Rangers so far, and has played only 26 minutes of football for the Gers, as reported by The Sunday Post.
Rangers manager Gerrard has said that he wants the Nigeria Under-23 international striker to step up his game and prove that he is good enough for the Gers.
The Liverpool legend, though, has said that he does not plan to sent Sadiq back to Roma in the January transfer window.
Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd, now at Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock, though, has suggested that Sadiq – who cost Roma £2 million in transfer fees when they signed him from Spezia in 2016, according to The Scottish Sun – could be gone from Ibrox before next summer.
Gerrard told The Sunday Post when asked if Sadiq could be sent back to Roma: “It’s not something that we’ve thought about, and it’s not something we’d try and do.
“What we want is the real, aggressive Sadiq. That’s we’ve paid for, that’s what we’ve asked for, that’s what we’ve got in. This is me trying a different way to get it out of him because I’ve tried other ways.”
Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun about Rangers’ Scottish League Cup semi-final tie: “Umar Sadiq would fit that bill but going by Steven Gerrard’s comments in midweek I wouldn’t be surprised if the on-loan striker was back in Rome by the time the semi-final rolls around.”
