Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers have a massive game tomorrow – and one of their key players might well be fit.

Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that Scott Arfield should be fit for Sunday’s Scottish League Cup semi-final with Aberdeen.

The 29-year-old picked up a hamstring injury whilst on international duty with Canada, and subsequently missed his country’s clash with Dominica.

Arfield, who missed Thursday night’s stalemate with Spartak Moscow in the Europa League and last weekend’s demolition at Hamilton, had been in brilliant form since joining Rangers on a free contract this past summer.

Victory over the Dons at Hampden tomorrow would put the Gers within 90 minutes of their first trophy in the Gerrard era, and the iconic midfielder revealed that the former Burnley ace should be fit to face Derek McInnes’s side.

He told Rangers TV: “Scott trained this morning. He come through fine. He’ll be available for training tomorrow, which’ll be the game day minus-one session, but assuming he has no issues then he’ll be available for selection.”

Given his influence and talent, having Arfield fit would be massive for Rangers.

With Kyle Lafferty ineligible and Alfredo Morelos suspended, the Gers are already at a slight disadvantage it must be said, but the potential inclusion of Arfield is a major plus.

He has three goals in eight starts for the Blues across all competitions this season.
