Ryan Kent is ‘having the time of his life’ at Ibrox, according to Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard.
Steven Gerrard has told The Record he doesn’t feel that Ovie Ejaria’s failure at Rangers has ruined his chances of signing Liverpool players on loan in the future.
Ejaria joined Rangers on a season-long loan from the Premier League giants last summer, but returned to Merseyside last week.
The 21-year-old playmaker struggled for form and consistency during his four-month spell at Ibrox, but Ryan Kent, who also joined Gerrard’s side on loan from the Reds, has been brilliant for the Gers this season.
Kent, who is injured at the moment, has three goals in nine Premiership starts for the Glasgow giants and Gerrard believes that Liverpool will still let some of their players join Rangers in spite of Ejaria’s failure.
He told The Record: “I don’t think there will be a problem getting players on loan from Liverpool in the future.
“We have another Liverpool player here who has played probably around 20 times, who has reignited his career after two bad loans.
“He’s doing unbelievably well and I want him fit as soon as possible. He’s having the time of his life. Kids are different, characters are different. I have to accept that.”
Good news for Solanke?
Rangers were heavily linked with a loan move for Dominic Solanke for much of last summer, though the 21-year-old wound up staying at Anfield.
But the big striker – worth £22.4 million according to CIES – hasn’t kicked a ball for Jurgen Klopp this season and therefore could be available on loan again in January.
It remains to be seen if Rangers will renew an interest, but it’s a good thing that Gerrard doesn’t feel Ejaria’s spell will stand against him if he does ask the question.
