Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers manager Steven Gerrard wishes he had Allan McGregor at Liverpool.

Gerrard, who was appointed the Rangers manager in the summer of 2018, has suggested that he was impressed with McGregor during the Scotland international’s performances against Celtic in his first spell at Rangers.
The 36-year-old started his professional club football career at Rangers and played for the Gers until 2012 before leaving for Besiktas.
The Scotland international goalkeeper to returned to Rangers in the summer transfer window for his second spell at Ibrox after leaving Hull City at the end of the 2017-18 campaign.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun about McGregor: “I remember watching Allan in a lot of Old Firm games for many years. As a Liverpool player, you are thinking, ‘I wouldn’t mind a bit of him’.
“Not just on talent and ability, but as a leader and a person. You can see a lot when you watch players. McGregor was good enough to play in the top six down in England, no doubt about it.”

Ultimate compliment
Gerrard is one of the greatest footballers of all time and is a Liverpool legend, and the former England international midfielder’s aforementioned comments about wishing to play with McGregor at Anfield is the ultimate compliment to the goalkeeper.
McGregor may be in his mid-30s now, but the Scottish goalkeeper is going strong as ever and is one of the best in his position in the Scottish Premiership.
