Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has suggested to The Scottish Sun that there is interest in star striker Alfredo Morelos.

Gerrard has spoken highly of Morelos following Rangers’ 4-2 win against FC Midtjylland away from home in the first leg of their Europa League Qualifying Third Round tie on Thursday.

The 23-year-old Colombia international scored for the Gers in 43rd minute and had a brilliant game overall.

Rangers boss Gerrard has raved about the youngster, and the Liverpool legend has also suggested that clubs are interested in him.

Gerrard told The Scottish Sun: “When Alfredo is on his A-game, he can be unplayable and can help this club be successful.”

The Liverpool legend added: “A performance like that on Thursday night is the reason why there is so much speculation. That’s the reason why so many teams are tracking him.”

Rangers stay

Morelos is arguably the best forward in the Scottish Premiership, and it is imperative that Rangers keep him for the 2019-20 campaign.

With the Gers aiming to challenge bitter Old Firm rivals Celtic for the Scottish Premiership title this season, the Ibrox club need to keep hold of their best players.

True, Rangers have a proven goalscorer in Jermain Defoe, but for them to be successful, they need both the Bournemouth-owned striker and Morelos.
