Jordan Jones made his third appearance for Scottish Premiership powerhouses Rangers in the Europa League clash in Denmark.

Steven Gerrard believes that Jordan Jones announced himself as a Rangers player during Thursday’s outstanding 4-2 win away at Midtjylland in Europa League qualifying, speaking to the Daily Record.
The Northern Ireland international has been overshadowed somewhat by Liverpool loanee Sheyi Ojo since he swapped Kilmarnock for Ibrox in the summer but, in his third appearance for the Glasgow giants, Jones showed what all the fuss was about.
St Joseph’s and Progres Niederkorn didn’t offer too much resistance but, in the third qualifying round, Rangers were expected to be severely tested by Danish outfit Midtjylland.
But, thanks in part to Jones’ electric performance on the wing, The Gers have one foot in the next round after a sensational 4-2 win in Denmark – arguably their best European away win since 2007 in Lyon.
Alfredo Morelos dominated the headlines with a performance fitting of his ‘El Bufalo’ nickname but, in Gerrard’s eyes, Jones deserves plenty of praise for a performance which explains why Rangers signed him in the first place.

“Jordan Jones announced himself as a Rangers player with that performance last night. From my experience in Europe, you need ball carriers and he really stepped up last night,” said the former Liverpool skipper.
Jones needed to step up too. With Brandon Barker arriving from Manchester City, there will be yet more competition for a wide role at Rangers and we haven’t even mentioned the explosive Jake Hastie.
