Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has told The Scottish Sun that he thinks both Connor Goldson and Ryan Kent are ‘very consistent’ in training.
The Gers beat Dundee United 4-1 at Ibrox today, coasting to a comfortable win as their title pursuit continues.
Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent had Rangers 2-0 up at half time, before Joe Aribo and Alfredo Morelos made it 4-0 after the break.
Marc McNulty pulled one back late on, but this was Rangers’ day as they eased to a thumping win over Micky Mellon’s side.
Kent picked up his ninth goal of the season, just hours after Gerrard moved to praise the former Liverpool winger.
Gerrard noted that both Kent and Connor Goldson are ‘very consistent’ in training, turning in high performance levels – which is why they play so many games.
The pair have racked up more than 80 games combined this season, and Gerrard admitted that neither of them like being left out.

“We analyse and look at the players every day of the week,” said Gerrard. “You wouldn’t believe some of the things we look at. Connor Goldson has played 41 games and Ryan Kent’s played 40, and they are two people who have been extremely robust in terms of their bodies.”
“They don’t like not playing. They take it out on me if they are left out or they have to come off a pitch. But they can back that up in terms of numbers. Goldson and Kent are very consistent training-wise, and also in being available for games,” he added.
Given that Rangers paid £10.5million for the duo – £3million for Goldson and £7.5million for Kent – Gerrard needed both of them to set the standards at Ibrox, and that’s exactly what has happened.
