Rangers travel to take on Aberdeen on Wednesday night.

Rangers manager Steven Gerrard looks on during the rearranged Scottish Cup match between Cowdenbeath and Rangers at Central Park on January 30, 2019 in Cowdenbeath, Scotland.

Rangers are back in action on Wednesday night – but Steven Gerrard has told Rangers TV that he doesn’t know if Connor Goldson will be fit to play.

The Gers beat St Mirren at home on Saturday afternoon, a game which has sparked controversy given that Rangers were awarded four penalties at Ibrox.

Rangers return to action tomorrow, as they travel to Pittodrie in order to take on Aberdeen in what promises to be a fierce clash.

Rangers sit two points ahead of Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership table, and a win would not only pull them further clear of the Dons, but also keep the pressure on Celtic at the top of the table.

The Gers will have a strong squad available to Gerrard, but the one injury concern rests with defender and top centre back Goldson.

Goldson, 26, hasn’t played for Rangers since the win over Celtic on December 29th, and fans are keen to see him come back soon even with Nikola Katic impressing in recent games.

Now, Gerrard has revealed that Goldson ‘wants to give it a go’, but it’s tough to predict whether he will be available or not.

Gerrard added that Rangers will know more later tonight after Goldson has worked in a second training session today, meaning it will be a last-gasp call on the defender’s potential involvement.

“We’re gonna check on Connor Goldson and see how he’s getting on,” said Gerrard. “He’ll be touch and go, it’s a difficult one to predict sitting here right now, we’ve still got a session to go. He’s prepared to give it a go, so we’ll probably know later on tonight where he’s available or not,” he added.
