Uche Ikepazu probably failed his audition for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers, but does Steven Gerrard even know him?

Rangers boss Steven Gerrard might have just hinted that he isn’t interested in a reported target.
Gerrard’s side beat Hearts 3-1 in what was a very comfortable afternoon at Tynecastle today.
One of the reasons why it was a routine victory for Rangers was Jambos hitman Uche Ikpeazu, who was excellently dealt with by Gers duo Connor Goldson and Nikola Katic.
He told Rangers’ YouTube channel: “We were strong from start to finish. You know when you come to Tynecastle they’re going to be physical. The big guy up front tries to back in and lean and foul. They can be awkward at times.”
The ‘big guy’
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers are interested in signing the Hearts striker, but Gerrard’s comments are perhaps a hint that there’s nothing in it at all.
You would think that if the 37-year-old was interested then he would know a bit about him, especially his name, but referring to him as the ‘big guy’ might infer that Ikpeazu isn’t on the light Blues’ radar.
And it’s probably for the best because the 24-year-old barely had a sniff. As Gerrard pointed out, he is certainly quite a physical specimen, but on the evidence of today, Ikpeazu – who has two goals in 14 Premiership outings – is nowhere near good enough for Rangers.
