Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have appointed Steven Gerrard as the Gers’ manager, and Real Madrid legend Zinedine Zidane backs him to be a success.

Gerrard will officially take charge of Rangers from next month, and anticipation is building among the Ibrox fans.
Zidane is a France and Madrid legend, and is one of the greatest footballers of all time.
The Frenchman won the Champions League as a player with Madrid in 2002, and in 2016 and 2017 as manager of Los Blancos.
The former Juventus midfielder has guided Madrid to the Champions League final yet again this season where they will face Gerrard’s old club Gerrard.

Zidane told The Daily Record about Gerrard: “He has played with and against the best, won a Champions League Final, captained one of the biggest clubs in Europe, and won over 100 caps with England.
“Not many players in the world have that sort of experience in the game – and he will use all those years of experience from the very first day in the job.
“I followed his playing career closely and now I will be following his coaching career closely. He is a born winner, a natural winner and I am sure he will bring that to Rangers.”

Success at Rangers
Gerrard knows the game inside out, and is one of the greatest midfielders of all time.
If the Liverpool legend is backed in the summer transfer window by the Rangers board, then he could guide the Gers to success in the coming years.
It must be exciting for Rangers fans to have a legend like Gerrard in charge of the first team.
