The on-loan Rangers winger has impressed under Steven Gerrard at Ibrox.

The Rangers manager, Steven Gerrard, has insisted he does not know where reports of a £12-million-plus asking price for the Liverpool winger, Ryan Kent, originate.
The Echo claimed this week Rangers are set to miss out on a permanent deal for Kent, who has impressed while on loan at Ibrox this season, with Liverpool seeking a club-record fee from the Scottish giants.
But speaking via Rangers’ official Youtube channel ahead of Sunday’s Old Firm, Gerrard said: “I’ve read the rumours and the speculation. I’m not sure who’s put that price on Ryan, whether it’s his agent or whether it’s Liverpool. I’ve heard nothing on that.
“But my focus is on Ryan Kent being available for the weekend – I’m pleased he’s available.
“In terms of the future and moving forward, that decision is out of my hands. Liverpool know we want him here, the players know we want him here, his representation know we want him here. But in terms of the decision, it’s not down to me – I wish it was!”
Kent has scored or created 14 goals for Rangers this season and in doing so he is said to have alerted clubs south of the border.

Although the Gers once spent £12 million on the then Chelsea striker, Tore Andre Flo, they are unlikely to have those kinds of funds to spend in this summer’s transfer window – that is unless other key players, such as top scorer Alfredo Morelos, are sold.
