Lille are interested in signing Morelos from Rangers in the summer transfer window and have had a bid turned down this month, according to The Scottish Sun.
The Colombia international striker was dropped from the Rangers squad for their Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock at Ibrox last weekend.
The 24-year-old did return to the Gers’ squad for the league game against Hamilton Academical on Saturday afternoon, but the striker – who cost Rangers £1 million in transfer fee when they signed him from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017, according to The Scottish Sun – was an unused substitute.
Gerrard told The Scottish Sun when asked if the Colombian would still be a Rangers player following the international break: “I don’t know. That’s a very difficult question for me to answer.
“I’m taking each day as it comes in terms of Alfredo. He’s trained really well this week but I really can’t control what other teams will do.
“All I can do is manage the situation on a daily basis. At the moment, where we stand right now, I expect to see him after the international break.”
Rangers exit this summer?
Morelos has been hot and cold this season, and with Kemar Roofe and Cedric Itten having been signed already this summer, Rangers are not over-relying on the Colombian.
If Rangers get a good transfer fee for the 24-year-old, then perhaps they should consider selling him.
The Gers have made a strong start to the season, as the Ibrox club aim to win the Scottish Premiership title this campaign.
