Everton were relatively quiet in the summer transfer window.
Everton Director of Football Steve Walsh has told the Liverpool Echo that there are one or two players the club are keen to try to sign.
Walsh joined Everton in the summer transfer window in a move from Leicester City, as the Blues made him their first ever Director of Football.
His first transfer window at Goodison Park was something of a frustrating one as the Blues failed to bring in the big name signings they wanted.
They did enjoy some success, though, with midfielder Idrissa Gueye already looking like one of the signings of the season.
They look likely to be active in the January transfer window as a result and Walsh has confirmed as much to the Liverpool Echo.
“Recruitment is key at any football club and Everton is no different,” he said.
“Hopefully I can duplicate here what I did at Leicester. There are certainly one or two players out there that we’d like to talk to and convince that Everton is the place for them.”
One area that Everton will certainly be looking at improving is up front, where they are short on options at present.
They hunted a striker throughout the summer transfer window but failed to get their man, instead electing to secure Enner Valencia on loan on deadline day.
He has so far made an uninspiring start to life on Merseyside and adding another more competitive striker is likely to be top of the club’s priorities.
