Steve Bruce is currently the odds-on favourite to land the Aston Villa job.

Steve Sidwell has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 10th October, that Aston Villa should appoint Steve Bruce as their next manager.
Villa are on the look out for a new manager, following their dismissal of Roberto Di Matteo last week.
And Sidwell feels that Bruce is the perfect man for the job, as he has experience of guiding sides to promotion.

“They need a manager to go in there and let the shackles off from the lads,” the former Villa midfielder said. “They are under huge pressure.
“He [Steve Bruce] would be a perfect fit. He’s a mans’ manager, and he knows what it takes to get out the division. He takes all the boxes and it’d be ideal for him.”
Bruce has been out of work since last summer, when he left Hull City after guiding them to promotion to the Premier League.

The former Manchester United player is currently rated as a 1/5 shot to land the Villa job, with the bookies’ seemingly feeling it is a foregone conclusion that he will be appointed.
If Bruce does take over at Villa his task of guiding them into the promotion race will not be an easy one.
Villa are currently 10 points back from the play off spaces, meaning that they are already playing catch up.
The Villans’ currently have Steve Clarke in temporary charge, with their next match coming against Wolverhampton Wanderers after the international break.
