Crystal Palace owner Steve Parish has hailed Tottenham Hotspur’s ‘absolutely sensational’ new stadium.

Tottenham christen their new £1 billion home on Wednesday when Palace visit North London.

The ground was over six months late in being ready but it certainly looks worth the wait.

Like so many others, Parish is yet to visit Spurs’ new stadium and has only seen photographs, though the Eagles supremo is clearly blown away – and he hopes to spoil the day for the hosts.

“It looks absolutely sensational and I can’t wait to see it for myself on Wednesday,” he wrote in his program notes for Palace’s win over Huddersfield this past weekend.

“We will of course be doing our best to slightly spoil the day if we can and come back with some points.”

Going by form, Palace could very easily spoil the day for Tottenham.

Mauricio Pochettino’s side have taken just the one point from the last 15 on offer in the Premier League. The Eagles have only won two of their last four, but that still makes them the form team going into tomorrow’s coronation.

Spurs slipped to fourth in the Premier League table on Monday night when Arsenal beat Newcastle United to leapfrog Pochettino’s troops into third.

Victory is essential for the Lilywhites but their form, coupled with the unfamiliarity of playing in a new stadium, could make it very difficult.
