On Wednesday, Steve Parish sat down with Palace TV to provide the Selhurst Park faithful with an update on things at Crystal Palace.
Within an interesting chat, the Eagles chairman revealed that three academy players are on the cusp on becoming first-team members.
What did Steve Parish say?
Speaking to Palace TV, Parish said: “We’ve got many of them training with Patrick right now. David Omilabu, Jesurun and Malachi are probably the ones that are closest to the first-team.”
That comes as no surprise to us – most Crystal Palace fans will tell you that the trio are by far the best performing youngsters at the club right now.
Who are Omilabu, Rak-Sakyi and Boateng?
Incredibly, Omilabu scored 24 goals in 26 appearances last season, while also providing two assists.
To average a goal involvement per game across the entire campaign is some effort.
In Rak-Sakyi’s case, the 18-year-old has been doing so well in SE25 that Celtic, West Ham and Everton wanted to sign him.

Thankfully, the teenager has now signed a professional contract at Crystal Palace to fend off interest.
The attacking pair are incredibly exciting talents, but don’t forget about Boateng.
Despite being just 19, the all-action midfielder won Crystal Palace’s Under-23 Player of the Year award last season.

It came after he also secured the Under-18 Player of the Season in the 2019/20 campaign.
With external talents such as Ebere Eze and Michael Olise at the club too, the future looks extremely bright for Crystal Palace.
