Would Everton’s Ross Barkley be a good signing at Liverpool in the summer transfer window?
The Liverpool legend believes that the 23-year-old England international is a player that a manager cannot trust.
“No, I wouldn’t,” said Nicol on the ESPN FC show on BT Sport/ESPN last Thursday afternoon (broadcast from 1pm, July 13, 2017) when asked if he would want Barkley at Liverpool.
“If I am Jurgen Klopp, I am buying players I can trust. I guess that sums Ross Barkley up. You can’t trust him.”

Barkley is a very talented and promising young attacking midfielder, but the 23-year-old lacks consistency.
The Englishman is also not guaranteed a place in the Everton starting lineup, and it could be tough for him to feature regularly for the Toffees next season given the competition for places in Ronald Koeman’s side.

Interestingly, Barkley has been linked with a move away from the Merseyside outfit in the summer transfer window.
The Independent has claimed of Tottenham Hotspur’s interest in the England international, with Everton reported to be ready to compromise on their £50 million valuation of the attacking midfielder.
Barkley scored five goals and provided eight assists in 36 Premier League appearances for Everton last season.
