The Liverpool striker is not a guaranteed starter under Jurgen Klopp.

Steve Nicol suggested that Liverpool have to sell Divock Origi this summer, when speaking exclusively to ESPN FC, highlighting how the Belgian does not make Jurgen Klopp’s squad ‘better’.
The 24-year-old joined the Reds from Lille in the summer of 2014 for £10 million, according to BBC Sport, and he has gone on to score 28 goals in 98 appearances in all competitions.
Origi is well down the pecking order in the centre-forward department at Liverpool, although he might be given more opportunities to impress next season, with Daniel Sturridge’s exit being confirmed by the club.
Nicol believes that the Belgium international should also be sent packing, however.
The Reds legend told ESPN FC how he is not good enough to help Liverpool take the next step:

“For Liverpool’s sake, they should get rid of him, let him go, depends on how harsh or nicely you want to put it. He has to go for his sake but for Liverpool’s sake, they’ve got themselves into a place now where they need to think ‘how do we take the next step?’. And for me taking the next step is making the squad better and bigger. I don’t feel that Divock Origi makes our squad better.”
Nicol’s words do seem to be a little harsh, considering the fact that Origi scored two goals against Barcelona in the Champions League semi-final clash at Anfield, and bagged his side’s second against Tottenham in the final in Madrid.
Football is a ruthless game, however, and should Jurgen Klopp bring a top class forward to Liverpool this summer, it would be no surprise to se the 24-year-old leave Merseyside.
