Is Kieran Trippier good enough to replace the Tottenham right-back?

Steve Nicol has told ESPN that he expects Tottenham Hotspur right-back Kyle Walker to join Manchester City this summer.
The 27-year-old has been heavily linked with a switch to Pep Guardiola’s side and The Mail reported this week that the Citizens were prepared to offer £40 million, though Tottenham reportedly want £50 million for the England international.
The former Sheffield United man has been one of Tottenham’s most consistent performers in recent seasons, meaning that replacing him could be a task in itself.

But ex-Liverpool man Nicol claims that Kieran Trippier is a “ready-made replacement” for Walker, though admits he’s not quite as good as the attacking full-back.
He told ESPN after being asked if the move would be good business. “Yeah I think so. He’s made no secret of the fact he wants to move from Spurs.
“And Spurs have a ready-made replacement in Kieran Trippier – albeit he’s not as good as Walker, but certainly not much of a step down. I don’t see why this doesn’t happen.”

Trippier is certainly a fine player but on the whole Walker is arguably a much more rounded right-back.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino might be tempted to simply promote Trippier rather than replace Walker, if he goes, but the Argentine must seriously consider drafting in another top-quality right-back to compete with the former Burnley man, who is untested over the course of a full season in Tottenham colours.
