The striker has struggled during his time with Liverpool.

Liverpool legend Steve Nicol urged his former club to sell Danny Ings this summer, insisting that the 26-year-old is not good enough to play for a top four team, as quoted by the Express.
Ings joined Liverpool on a free transfer in the summer of 2015 after his contract expired with Burnley, but he has struggled with both form and fitness during his time at Anfield.
The 26-year-old has scored just four goals in 25 appearances in all competitions for the Reds, and it is hard to envisage a scenario where he has an important part to play for Jürgen Klopp’s side.
Nicol, who made 473 appearances for Liverpool, urged Klopp to sell Ings this summer, claiming that the former Burnley hitman is not good enough to play for the Reds, as quoted by the Express:

“Danny should go. At the end of the day in my opinion, Danny’s a good Premier League player. Danny’s not a top-four striker in the Premier League in my opinion.”
Roberto Firmino is vitally important to the way in which Liverpool play, and he must surely be one of the first names on Klopp’s team-sheet.
Ings’ task of usurping the Brazilian this season will will be next to impossible, so a move way from Anfield would surely be in his best interest.
