Steve Morison has raved about Marcelo Bielsa’s ‘relentless’ Leeds United and has backed them to earn promotion to the Premier League this season.

Millwall legend Morison will see two of his former sides go head-to-head in what will be a feisty encounter at the Den on Saturday – Leeds could go top of the Championship table with a win.

Bielsa extended his stay at Elland Road this summer, which would have pleased the Leeds faithful, who will be hoping the team has learnt from last season’s heartbreaking mistakes.

Speaking to Sky Sports Football (02/10/19 at 7:30 pm), Morison joked about Bielsa’s ‘two-year cure’, but the Leeds fans will love his comments about how his team play.

On what Bielsa has done to make them so attack-minded: “They are just fit,” Morison told Sky Sports. “They are relentless, they don’t stop. They get in all different types of lines all over the pitch. Sometimes they’ll have five up front, but they are all there for a reason.

“They work so hard. They sometimes leave 2 v 2 at the back because they back themselves to get out of trouble. They don’t stop. They just keep going and going and going. Let’s just hope Bielsa’s two-year curse doesn’t happen this year and he manages to get them up.”

Marcelo Bielsa manager of Leeds United arrives prior to the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on September 21, 2019 in Leeds, England.

Leeds United’s battles with Millwall over the years have always been tough and there’s no doubt that more of the same will occur at the weekend.

Bielsa’s side go into the game on the back of a very good win against promotion rivals West Brom, who were unbeaten in the league until they crossed paths with the Yorkshire outfit.

As for Neil Harris’ Millwall, they are sitting in the bottom half of the Championship table and they haven’t won since August.
