The Liverpool stopper chose not to go up for his side’s corner in injury time against Barcelona.

Barcelona beat Liverpool 3-0 in the Champions League last night, and Steve McManaman suggested that Alisson Becker defied Jurgen Klopp’s orders in the final minute of the game, when speaking during commentary of the match for BT Sport.
The Reds actually played quite well for large parts of the game, but they were undone by some Lionel Messi magic in the last 15 minutes of the game.
With Barca leading Liverpool 3-0 deep into injury time, Klopp was seen beckoning his goalkeeper Alisson to go forward for a corner.
And McManaman highlighted how the Brazilian defied his gaffer’s orders, when speaking during commentary of the game for BT Sport:
“Jurgen’s pointing at Alisson to get in the box as well, and Alisson just said no to him!”

It was perhaps fortunate that Alisson chose to remain in his own half, however.
Barcelona broke from the ensuing corner, and would have had an empty net to aim for, had the Liverpool stopper chosen to listen to Klopp’s orders and go up for the corner.
Liverpool welcome Barca to Anfield for the second-leg of their semi-final tie on Tuesday, and they will have to be on their very best form, if they are to have any chance whatsoever of reaching the final of the competition.
