Leeds United midfielder Ronaldo Vieira has impressed Steve McClaren before.

Steve McClaren is currently the favourite to take over at Leeds United, and while his appointment would not be unanimously popular at Elland Road, it could be good news for Ronaldo Vieira.
McClaren has emerged as the leading contender to take over from Thomas Christiansen at Leeds, after he was spotted in the stands at Elland Road for the Yorkshire side’s most recent match.
And McClaren’s appointment could be great news for Vieira’s first-team chances at Leeds, as the former England boss is a huge fan of the youngster.

“We talked about winning the battles and dominating that area, but I’m afraid Leeds dominated,” McClaren said to the Yorkshire Evening Post back in 2016, after Leeds beat his Derby County side.
“(Ronaldo) Vieira, wow. At 18 years old he’s got a bright future. He ran the show tonight and gave us a bit of a lesson.”
Vieira had to win Christiansen around this term, and was rarely used during the Dane’s initial time in charge.
The 19-year-old was kept on the substitutes’ bench over the early part of the campaign, but it seems that McClaren will require no convincing of the prospect’s talents.

Leeds are under pressure to make a swift appointment to replace Christiansen, while they still have some hope of making the play offs.
The Whites are fighting an uphill battle to make the top six, but they are still in with an outside chance of making the promotion deciding fixtures, if they can hit form between now and the end of the campaign.
