QPR boss Steve McClaren has told West London Sport that Luke Freeman is good enough forLeeds United.

The 26-year-old lit up Loftus Road last night and scored the winner as McClaren’s side beat the promotion-chasing Whites – who stay third in the Championship – 1-0 in London.

In doing so, Freeman netted his eighth of the season and the R’s boss reckons that he’s good enough for Leeds – and even the Premier League.

He told West London Sport: “He was our talisman tonight. There were a lot of heroic performances but his was incredible.

“He’s someone who can play at the top of the Championship, could play in that Leeds team and could play in the Premier League, so we’re delighted to have him here.”

Freeman is certainly a talented player, but would he get into Marcelo Bielsa’s best XI? At the moment, very possibly.

Bielsa is in dire need of a quality playmaker following the loss of Samu Saiz, who joined Getafe on loan in January.

Pablo Hernandez has been mainly used out wide, with the Argentine deploying Kemar Roofe – now injured – and Tyler Roberts as a number 10 since the Spaniard’s exit, but both are strikers by trade.

Izzy Brown could be a viable option to fill the creativity void left by Saiz, after making his long-awaited debut with a nine-minute cameo last night.
