Queens Park Rangers have spent the last week in the Algarve and boss Steve McClaren has explained he is happy with what he has seen.
Queens Park Rangers boss Steve McClaren has admitted he is delighted with his side after the R’s returned from a week-long training camp in Portugal on Wednesday.

“I am delighted with the week’s work,” he said. “There has been a great attitude from the players and we fitted in a hell of a lot of work in seven days.

“Tactically we have got a lot in but it’s been enjoyable.”
McClaren will take charge of QPR for the first time when they travel to Preston on 4 August and the former Derby boss will be well aware of the rigours and demands of a tough Championship campaign.

The west Londoners finished in 16th place last season and had occasionally flirted with the relegation zone but finished closer to mid-table, with some QPR fans unsure of McClaren’s appointment.
Nonetheless, it appears that the 57-year-old has seen positive things from his players and McClaren will need to make sure he continues to hit all the right notes with his squad going into the new campaign.
