West Ham duo Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson will be the players to dig the club out of a tough position, according to Steve Lomas.
Ex-West Ham United midfielder Steve Lomas insists that current stars Andriy Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson can become vital players at the London Stadium.
The duo are some of the new arrivals at the club from the summer window, but Manuel Pellegrini’s side have had a horror start to the season with four consecutive defeats in the Premier League.
The Hammers go into the international break rooted at the bottom of the league table and they travel to Everton in their next fixture.
Lomas insists that West Ham are going to turn around their form, highlighting two key players that should make a positive impact.
“I’m sure things will turn around. We did sign better players in the transfer window, but it takes time for them to settle into the Premier League and to get used to each other,” Lomas told the club’s official website.
“I certainly believe [Andriy] Yarmolenko will become a good player for us, and you can see Felipe Anderson has quality, but the Premier League is a different challenge for them to get used to.”
Anderson, 25, is an attacking midfielder that has started all four league games so far and has been one of the stronger performers within the side.
The Brazilian playmaker is a brilliant dribbler and is someone that can get supporters off their seat, but is just trying to find his end product.
In contrast, Yarmolenko has not quite hit the ground running in the same away and is still trying to show what he can do in English football.
The 28-year-old winger arrived from Borussia Dortmund with a strong reputation and has shown in the past he can perform at the top level when he gets a regular run of games.
West Ham fans will be praying some of their new signings can gel quickly to help them steer away from the bottom of the table in the coming weeks.
