Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard believes Jordan Henderson can have a big season under Jurgen Klopp.

Steven Gerrard has claimed via The Liverpool Echo that Jordan Henderson can be a “big asset” for Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp this season.
Henderson’s first season as Liverpool captain was blighted with injury last term as the 26-year-old managed just 17 Premier League appearances – and later missed the Reds’ Europa League final defeat by Sevilla, and England’s Euro 2016 campaign.

Nevertheless, the former Sunderland midfielder has been a prominent player for the Merseyside club for a number of seasons now, and a fully-fit Henderson would surely benefit Klopp in the 2016-17 campaign.
Henderson inherited the captaincy from Gerrard, who left Liverpool a little over a year ago, and the legendary midfielder says that the current skipper can have a major impact for the club under Klopp this season.

“If we all get behind Henderson and he finds his top form he can be a very big asset for Klopp this year,” he said via The Echo.
“I’m hoping he starts the season strong, gets his confidence early and I think he will be a big player for us. I just want everyone to get behind him and give him that chance.”
Henderson will be hoping to lead the Reds out at the Emirates for Liverpool’s Premier League curtain raiser with Arsenal on August 14.
