Wolverhampton Wanderers progressed to the next round of the FA Cup after their win against Bristol City on Sunday.
Steve Froggatt is hoping Wolves can ‘go one better’ than the class of 98′ after they reached the quarter-finals of the FA Cup on Sunday by beating Bristol City 1-0.
It was the first time since 2003 that the Midlands outfit has reached this stage of the competition and they will be hoping to match the team of 1998 and reach, at the very least, the semi-final stage.
Winger Ivan Cavaleiro scored the only goal of the match against the Championship club as Nuno Espirito Santo will be hoping to bring some silverware to the club.
Former Wolves winger Froggatt stated on his personal Twitter account that they are ‘more than capable’ of lifting the FA Cup in May.
It has been yet another blockbuster season for the Molineux club, who earned promotion to the Premier League in emphatic style last season.
Added with that, they have also proven their worth in England’s top-tier as they currently sit seventh in the Premier League table – they are two points ahead of eighth-placed Watford.
Nonetheless, Wolves fans will be hoping for at least one trip to Wembley in the coming months, with the FA Cup wide open this season.
Manchester City are still in the competition, but one of Manchester United and Chelsea, who play each other on Monday night, will get knocked out.
