Aston Villa were below par in every department in their 2-0 defeat to Wolves on Saturday in the Championship.
Steve Bruce’s side went into the game after the international break on the back of seven undefeated games in the Championship.
According to former Aston Villa and Wolves player Steve Froggatt, Villa were ‘too one paced’. However, he believes that the Championship is like a marathon race and not a sprint, so Villa will have plenty of time to regroup.
Froggatt, who represented Villa from 1991-94, believes that both Villa and Wolves will challenge for promotion this season. He added that both are fantastic clubs, and that he had the privilege to wear the shirts of both teams during his playing career.
As a result of this defeat, Aston Villa have slipped to seventh in the Championship table, seven points behind league leaders Wolves.
Villa will face Fulham in the next championship game at Villa Park on Saturday. Villa are undefeated at home this season, with three wins and three draws.
