Leeds United parted ways with Steve Evans before the current season started.

Steve Evans has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast, which was broadcast on 6th October, that he remains in contact with Leeds United owner Steve Evans.
Leeds let go of Evans last summer, in what was a controversial decision from Cellino.
Many Leeds fans had hoped that Evans would stay in charge, after he did an impressive job at Elland Road last term.

However, the Whites opted to bring in Garry Monk instead – and Evans insists that there is no hard feelings between him and Cellino over that decision.
“I had a call from Cellino recently, and had some dialogue,” Evans said. “It’s never about the team or Garry.
“He had a personal call from another chairman about me, and he was just calling to say that call had been in and how highly he had spoke of me.”

Cellino has not kept a good relationship with every manager that he had dismissed from Leeds, but Evans has always defended the Italian.
Cellino may feel that his decision to appoint Monk instead of Evans has been vindicated now.
Leeds have made an impressive start to life in the Championship this term, and currently sit in 11th place in the table.
Leeds have won five of their last six matches, and are enjoying their best run of form for a number of years.
