Steve Evans rules out move for Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs

Peterborough United have been linked with a move for Nottingham Forest’s Jack Hobbs in recent times.

Peterborough United boss Steve Evans has told the Peterborough Evening Telegraph that Nottingham Forest defender Jack Hobbs is not on his radar.

Posh have been linked with a move for the Forest man, who is out of contract at the end of the season.

However, Evans has doubts over the centre-back’s fitness and says that the transfer would be too much of a risk right now.

“Jack has been a top player and fully fit I’d be interested,” Evans said.

“I did see him playing for Forest Under 23s recently and he was outstanding, the best player on the pitch, but he’s been injured a lot recently so he’d be too big a risk.”

Hobbs has managed to feature just four times for Forest this term, with injury problems disrupting his campaign.

The defender has constantly struggled to stay off the treatment table in recent times, and has managed just 14 appearances over the last two seasons for Forest.

Aitor Karanka’s side appear to have moved on in Hobbs’ absence, with the Spanish boss strengthening his defence in the January transfer window.

Karanka is also set to bring in more additions over the summer, with Hobbs seemingly unlikely to be offered a new contract and the chance to remain at the City Ground.
