Mansfield Town manager Steve Evans was in charge of Leeds United last season.

Mansfield Town manager Steve Evans suggested on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, December 3, 2016) that Garry Monk would have to get Leeds United into the Championship playoffs in order to keep his job next season.

Evans, who was in charge of Leeds from October 2015 until the end of the 2015-16 season, made the comments in response to the question if head coach Monk is getting his relationship with club chairman Massimo Cellino right.

“Well, he is winning football matches and we all know for the end of the season he has to put the football club into the playoffs or it could be a different story,” said Evans on the Football on 5: The Championship show on Channel 5 on Saturday evening (broadcast from 9pm, December 3, 2016).

Leeds are exceeding expectations at the moment, and it will be interesting to see if they are able to maintain their current form until the end of the season.

The West Yorkshire outfit will return to action on Friday evening when they take on Brighton & Hove Albion away from home at the American Express Community Stadium in the Championship.
