Nottingham Forest-owned Jason Cummings has joined Peterborough United on loan.

Jason Cummings struggled to make an impact at Nottingham Forest last season, and the former Hibernian striker’s performances for Glasgow Rangers at Ibrox were not exactly great either.
True, Cummings – who joined Forest from Hibernian in the summer of 2017 – scored five goals in two Scottish Cup appearances for Rangers last season following his move from the Reds on loan in the January transfer window, the Scotland international striker was able to find the net just once in 600 minutes of Scottish Premiership for the Gers, according to WhoScored.
That new Rangers manager Steven Gerrard did not sign the 22-year-old striker this summer did not come as a surprise, and the youngster has joined Peterborough United on loan from Forest in the summer transfer window.
Peterborough manager Steve Evans has spoken highly of Cummings and seems to have full confidence in the Scotland international.
Evans told The Scottish Sun: “A manager like Mark Warburton does not take you to Nottingham Forest and you do not play for Glasgow Rangers unless you are top class.
“I know a few people who Jason knows and that has helped us to get him to the football club along with the fact he already knows one or two of the lads here.
“He is looking to get his career going again by scoring goals and helping us to be successful, but first and foremost he has to earn the right to be in the team just like any other player.”

Big season ahead
After a rather underwhelming season in 2017-18 on a personal level, Cummings will know that the 2018-19 campaign is a big one for him.
Peterborough will be aiming to win promotion from League One next season, and the striker should be looking to bag 15 to 20 goals in the league at least.
Kieran Dowell appreciation
One player who did well at Forest last season is Kieran Dowell, who scored nine goals and provided four assists in 31 Championship starts during his loan spell from Everton.
Now back at his parent club, the 20-year-old attacking midfielder has highlighted what he learned during his time at the City Ground last season.
Dowell told The Liverpool Echo: “I learned about changing the way you play depending on how the game is going. If you are winning 1-0, you are less likely to try stuff – you try to keep hold of the ball instead.
“It was my first experience of proper football. I played 40-odd games last season and off the pitch I grew up a lot living on my own. Every week, I had that need to win.”
If Dowell has a good pre-season with Everton, then the youngster could feature for the first team during the 2018-19 campaign.
