Leeds United are expected to be active over the coming weeks, as Thomas Christiansen reshapes his squad.

Steve Evans has told Sky Sports News, which was broadcast on 21st June, that he believes Leeds United have over £20 million to spend this summer.

Evans, who was in charge at Leeds for part of the 2015/16 campaign, feels that Championship clubs will be investing heavily this summer.

And he expects his former side to be particularly active in the current transfer window.

“I think there’s a number of clubs who are going to be spending some money,” Evans said. “I think Leeds have announced that they have £20 million plus for transfers, so I look forward to seeing who Mr. Christiansen’s going to sign.”

Where Evans has got the impression that Leeds have £20 million to spend is not clear.

There has been very little clue given from the Whites new ownership as to how much Thomas Christiansen will have to spend at Elland Road.

Leeds have already been linked with a host of different players over the summer so far, though.

The Yorkshire side supposedly hold an interest in the likes of Jonny Howson, Mateusz Klich and Ezgjan Alioski.

Leeds only signing so far this summer has been to make Hadi Sacko’s loan move into a permanent one.

Christiansen’s first competitive match in charge of Leeds is set to come against Bolton Wanderers on August 6th.
