The Leeds head coach has been discussing the 26-year-old after his side’s heavy defeat to Huddersfield.

Leeds United head coach Steve Evans says he felt sorry for Liam Bridcutt on Saturday afternoon as he was often a ‘lone furrow’ in midfield against Huddersfield, according to BBC Radio Leeds.

Indeed, Leeds lost 4-1 to Huddersfield at Elland Road and many players simply shirked responsibility for the Whites.

But not Bridcutt, who was let down by his team-mates…

The Scot told the BBC on Saturday: “I felt sorry for Liam today. I think he was a lone furrow at times in the middle of that midfield.”

Bridcutt seemed to earn respect from Leeds fans yesterday for his efforts – of which there was already plenty.

Many, however, are now fearing the 26-year-old may snub United in the summer if they want to sign him permanently.
