Charlie Taylor has handed in a transfer request at Leeds United, which has been rejected.
Former Leeds United boss Steve Evans has told the Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 4th August, that he believes West Ham United and Everton will be interested in signing Charlie Taylor this summer.
Taylor has handed in a transfer request at Leeds, which has been rejected by the Yorkshire club.
Leeds appear determined to keep hold of the youngster, even against his wishes.
However, Taylor’s future remains up in the air – and he is attracting the attentions of a number of clubs in the Premier League.
Evans believes that the youngster has the capabilities to play at the very top level, and he has suggested that Everton and West Ham will be looking to sign the left-back.
“The boy at Leeds that I left behind is someone I would assume West Ham, West Brom and Everton must be looking at,” Evans said.
“He’s top class. I said at the time, he’s the best of the group and he’ll play in the Premier League. The question will be whether he can do it now, or whether Massimo Cellino digs his heels in.”
If Taylor does leave Leeds this summer it will have be a major blow, given his performances last term.
Taylor was expected to have a vital role to play under Garry Monk’s stewardship.
If Taylor did leave, he would be the third of Leeds’ academy graduates to leave Elland Road in 2016 – following the departures of Lewis Cook and Sam Byram.
